Often done in tandem with the creation of the Piano/Vocal Score, piano arranging involves the creation of a piano part that encompasses the composers entire vision of the score. Then, when it is handed off to an orchestrator, it is expanded and arranged for a full band/pit orchestra.
This is done by making use of demos and recordings to fully grasp the composers vision, while also making it playable for one pianist/music director.
